On April 16, 1907, Tomo Turscak arrived at Ellis Island from Petrijanec, Croatia, at the age of 28. The ship's manifest showed he was married and on the way to Youngstown, Ohio, to meet a friend. We don't hear much more of Tomo until 1914. We know that he went back to Croatia at least a couple of times, as was customary of the time. We are awaiting receipt of documentation showing that Tomo applied for citizenship in 1910.

On May 01, 1914, Anna Glavic Turscak, along with her two young sons, Andrija (Andrew), age 4, and Stefan (Stephen), age 3, arrived at Ellis Island from Petrijanec, Croatia. She was 30 years old at the time. Soon, she and the children would be joining Tomo in Youngstown.Tomo and Anna Turscak are the patriarch and matriarch of our Turscaks, Tursacks, and Turschaks in North America.
